Stand-up Comedy Classes

by Scott Novotny

Stand-Up Comedy Classes for beginners and advanced instruction in Stand Up comedy and Improvisation. Offered in the Minnesota Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as Hudson and New Richmond in western Wisconsin.I have been teaching classes in stand-up comedy and improvisation for over twenty years. I always say to my students, ‘I wish that there was someone like ME around when I first started.’ I have met so many funny people in my life, many of whom would love to try their hand at stand-up comedy but have been either to afraid to do it, or just lack the means as to how to get their thoughts together. I say the world can never have enough comedians!
Stand-Up Comedy students study the art of comedy with teacher and professional comedian, Scott Novotny.
The old saying that ‘laughter is the best medicine’ is truly not without merit. It’s the best form of therapy that I know, (if not the cheapest!) and I feel blessed to be able to perform and teach the art of comedy.

Many of my students have gone on to become professional comedians and improvisational actors. Some names you might recognize are Stephanie Hodge (“Nurses” “UnHappily Ever After”), Gail Matthius (“Sat. Nite Live”), Trace Beaulieu (“Mystery Science Theater”), & working comedians Joe Keyes, Paul Kellehar, Paul Dillery, Chris Raine (all “Evening at the Improv” )

What students say...

ATTN:  ANYONE interested in doing stand-up comedy should attend Scott's classes." He will really do a great job helping out with the framework to organize your material. He's an extreme talent and will be very much worth the time and money spent to learn from him. If you're serious about comedy, you MUST see him. He was the best comedy mentor I ever had (regard less of the fact that he was my only comedy mentor, which is really beside the point)... anyway, I'm sure he'll be of much help to the rest of you aspiring comedians out there. P.S. Before you start the courses please lower your expectations now so that the courses will be easier on both you and Scott, thank you.
